Resumen: La digitalización de las obras literarias ha supuesto un apogeo en las nuevas formas de lectura a través de los medios digitales de comunicación, generando grandes cambios en la manera en que se debe manejar el derecho de autor para el amparo de las creaciones del intelecto que se plasman en internet. Esto devela la necesidad del análisis a la protección legal que la normativa colombiana tiene sobre este derecho en las obras publicadas en las plataformas digitales. Precisamente, este artículo muestra los resultados de una investigación cualitativa de tipo documental y socio-jurídica en donde se da a conocer una compilación de las políticas que amparan el derecho de autor; el paso de las obras impresas al formato digital y se exponen las controversias que ha generado la publicación de las obras literarias en los medios digitales referente al derecho de autor, así como la forma de darles resguardo.

Abstract: This article explores the relevance of emotions within education and the importance of social-emotional learning (SEL) in the learning process. It focuses on the benefits of developing social-emotional skills in students, including improved academic performance, social behavior, emotional well-being, attitudes and behaviors. The paper highlights the role of emotions in the learning process, and it emphasizes the need for teachers to master social-emotional competences for the creation of a positive classroom environment. Some effects that negative emotions have on cognitive and learning processes are also revised. The article focuses on the importance of social-emotional learning to foster personal and academic growth. It aims to discuss the relevance of emotions in education and the importance of social-emotional learning within the learning process in general. Through an in-depth analysis of emotions’ effects on learning, this reflection reveals significant and meaningful outcomes of social-emotional learning (SEL) in promoting holistic development and maintaining a healthy classroom environment.

This study presents historical evidence for the existence of a long-standing Islamic African tradition of cultivating and disseminating cartographic knowledge within diasporic networks on the continent as well as in the wider Atlantic world. It argues for a reassessment of the impact of this tradition not only on the colonial cartographic enterprise but on the life trajectories of its practitioners.

CONFRONTING ORIENTALISM IN AMERICAN MEDIA

Abstract: Following the aftermath of the attacks on September 11, 2001, Arab, Middle Eastern, and Muslim Americans became high-profile and trending subjects of primetime American T.V. American media and Hollywood have subjected the Middle Eastern community to scrutiny by broadcasting stereotypes that demean and dehumanize Middle Easterners and their Homeland. Middle Eastern American literature post-9/11 centers around questions of conflicting identities and new discourse on mainly the representation of Muslim women. Since 9/11, the oriental stereotypical representations of Muslim women as docile, passive, and exotic, dating back to the colonial projects in the 18th century, have been weaponized to create a sense of sympathy and to provoke hostile sentiments against Muslim men. This was done in the interest of the so-called 'War on Terror.' This paper examines the narrative pertaining to the Middle East's cultural, social, and political representations in American literature. It includes an analysis of the residual colonial ideologies deeply rooted in the newly emerging stereotypical portrayals of the Middle East. The recurring patterns of these texts are critical to understanding how the fictional representation of the Middle East, the Orient, is depicted and the psychological after-effects.

EBONY AND JET: BRIDGING THE AFRICAN-AMERICAN MEDIA GAP DURING THE KOREAN WAR

Ebony, despite its emphasis on achievements and notable figures, neglected significant wartime updates and conditions. Jet, though more reliable, also exhibited shortcomings in representing the broader spectrum of African-American soldiers’ experiences in Korea. The article delves into the magazines’ influence on beauty standards, advertisements, and their response to the changing African-American media landscape. Ebony, often criticized for its omission of African-American intellectuals, struggled to present a balanced view of the Korean War, while Jet, positioned as a weekly periodical, offered a more diverse range of stories but still lacked comprehensive coverage of African-American soldiers’ contributions to the civil rights movement.

EL PROGRAMA DE CONTADURÍA PÚBLICA Y SU IMPACTO EN LA ECONOMÍA LOCAL: EL CASO DE UNICOLOMBO EN CARTAGENA

Resumen: Este artículo examina el impacto del programa de Contaduría Pública de Unicolombo en la economía local, centrándose en la sede “Cuatro Vientos” en Cartagena. A través de proyectos de investigación y colaboraciones con el Núcleo de Apoyo Fiscal (NAF) y otras entidades, se analiza cómo la universidad ha influido en el crecimiento económico sostenible, el empleo y el trabajo decente en el sector circundante. Se utiliza un enfoque mixto de investigación, combinando métodos cualitativos y cuantitativos, para evaluar los resultados de los proyectos. Se destaca la relación entre el programa de Contaduría y el sistema de transporte masivo local "Transcaribe". Además, se examinan las características socioeconómicas de las empresas circundantes, evidenciando un aumento en la presencia de negocios desde la llegada de la institución educativa. Los proyectos, como el NAF, han capacitado a estudiantes para brindar asesoramiento contable y fiscal a empresas locales, contribuyendo al crecimiento económico. Sin embargo, se señala que la pandemia de COVID-19 ha presentado desafíos, llevando a actividades formativas virtuales. El artículo concluye destacando la importancia de la gestión social del conocimiento contable para apoyar a los microempresarios locales, fomentar la formalización de negocios y fortalecer la colaboración entre la academia y la comunidad empresarial.

TURISMO EXPERIENCIAL EN PLAYA BLANCA, BARÚ

Resumen: Este artículo muestra los resultados del análisis sobre turismo experiencial realizado en Playa Blanca (Barú), con el fin de vislumbrar nuevas estrategias que potencialicen el turismo sostenible y con calidad. Esta investigación se desarrolló de modo cualitativo, puesto que involucró la recopilación de información sobre los aspectos que benefician tanto a la oferta como a la demanda del territorio en estudio, destacando las virtudes, beneficios y debilidades que posee esta zona turística. De igual forma, involucró el análisis y recolección de datos, acontecimientos y experiencias de los actores involucrados mediante la observación e interpretación como fuente de información verídica. Para el análisis se utilizaron fuentes académicas como portales de investigación digital, páginas web, tesis e investigaciones relacionadas. Como hallazgo principal cabe decir que, a pesar de las grandes bondades con las que cuenta Playa Blanca (riqueza natural, aguas cristalinas, arena blanca, entre otras), se evidencian ciertas falencias que afectan la imagen de este lugar paradisíaco, tales como: la falta de regulación de los precios en los productos y servicios ofertados por la comunidad local y la sobrecarga en temporadas altas. Si bien la administración local ha estado interviniendo para poder contrarrestar estas problemáticas, lo que se puede concluir es que se requiere de políticas o planes mejor articulados para potenciar los beneficios que este territorio ofrece.
